Norwich, United Kingdom - 10th November 2012

After just getting back from the states, this reminded me of how good the Mexican food was at Chiquito's. Yeah it's a national chain but compared to some of the other restaurant's in Norwich the food is authentic and most importantly you can tell it's cooked with fresh ingredients (so sometimes you have to wait!). Recommended choice for Mexican food in Norwich.

Rather apprehensive about trying but i must say what a lovely surprise. The service was very prompt and friendly from start to finish. I would even go as far to say, possibly the best mexican in Norwich. The food was fresh, portions perfect and simply delicious. I had Acapulco Chicken Fajitas, my boyfriend had the Citrus marinated pork burrito. Mine was altogether, a well balanced range of crisp, clean mexican flavours, complimented by zesty lime and soft floury tortilla. My personal experience was very enjoyable. Next time I will try dessert. Highly reccomended.

Ate here last night in a group of 11 people. I had the chimichangas.
When the food came it was poorly presented, portions were miniscule & the food awful. The salad was 2 pieces of green leaf, the gucamole & salsa were 2 small dollops & whilst the chmichangas themselves were pretty large, they were hard to eat & I felt like I'd just paid 10.95 for a couple of deep fried Ginsters pasties! :( A pint of Stella & a desporados cost 6.30. Didn't have any dessert.Service was friendly, they were excellent with the kids (colouring books & crayons provided) but the food really let them down.
If you want good mexcan type food, head to Pedro's in Chapelfield Gardens the prices are about the same, but the portions huge and satisfying.

We were in Chiquito with a group of friends. Food was just OK. Staff was not friendly, we felt very unwelcome there. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

once again, an absolute treat!

Myself and my wife and 2 kids went for a spur of the moment meal last night (9/10/08) It was busy and the atmosphere was an absolute treat!
we were sat by a young lady named nikki (we know her name as my son asked the waitress as he found her attractive) She was very pleasant and chatty and recommended drinks straight away....the same lady who served us on our first visit, a key west cooler was ordered and was amazing!layered and very delicious, our food was delightful, fajitas, burritos and enchiladas, wow...thats all we can say!THIS IS A MUST EAT RESTAURANT, always greeted with a smile, service always amazing, the food is delicious, and although the drinks are a little pricey, that is what you expect from a restaurant as it is....A RESTAURANT NOT A PUB!We love it!

Was busy when we arrived we asked if there was a long delay in service and told no as we when only a small party of 3. Having ordered we waited and waited only to be told 45 mins later that they had run out of steak for the combo. When are new order did arrive wasn't that impressed.

Bit of a mixed review- firstly, the service was AWFUL!! It took them 5-10 minutes to actually seat us, leaving us standing at the door, even though we had booked a table.
Then it took nearly an HOUR to take our drinks order and us eventually get the drinks (a mere 20 minutes after we ordered them- nothing too complicated!)
Quite honestly it would have been quicker for us to take the order ourselves and give it to them!
The food was ok, nothing amazing, didn't have that spicyness or 'zing' you'd expect to get from mexican food. Don't think i'll be in a hurry to return.

For a brand new place to eat this was just dire, bar prices were horrific - 5.19 for a double vodka and tonic !! Food took ages to arrive, yup the place was busy, but nobody else had meals on their tables either. The taste of the meal was poor and the chicken was rubbery (i had spicy chicken burrito) Forget the excuse for guacamole, it was green, thats the only thing it has in common with what guacamole is like. Place lacked atmosphere and friendliness. Such a shame, it could have been so good.
