Norwich, United Kingdom - 4th March 2008

Everything about this traditional pub has character. From the deliberately uneven table tops to it's nick name, The Murderers that conjures up ideas of intrigue and secrets surrounding its history. The quirkiness of the lay out lends itself to the date of the building and is separated into a main bar and dining area. The food is good honest pub nosh with hearty portions, although the children's menu suffers by not providing the same quality of food offered on the main menu. I would like my son to eat one freshly made beefburger rather than two flimsy frozen reshaped off-cuts filled out with onion. However all things considered its a great city pub and will always entice me in for a pint and a snack. Highly recommended.

One of very few old-school pubs in the city centre. Deceptively large inside and generally has a good atmosphere. Prices have shot up in recent years but still not at Tombland level (yet). Definitely worth a visit.

This pub gives you the perfect mix. During the day, it is a good place for chating with friends, at night it is the perfect start! Although, I have often stayed there all night!!! The staff are friendly and the atmosphere great and relaxed. Go - you won't be disappointed!

One of the best traditional pubs placed slap bang in the city centre. Attracts many friends straight after work on a weekday but also busy at weekends where many start their night.

One of the nicer traditional pubs in Norwich city centre. The atmosphere is friendly and the bar staff are quick to serve. The upper section often seems to be closed ‘due to a function’ but there never seems to be anyone using it! When the upper section is closed getting a seat or even a place to stand can be difficult. Prices are average but I would like to see more selection of beers on tap.

Great place to watch live football, although through demand it's often find to hard a good seat. Still a great city centre pub after all these years where as other bars nearby have faded.
